WHAT IS PEAT MANAGEMENT?

peat treatment

Peat therapy is a completely natural treatment method in which peat is used to relax, cleanse and revitalize the body .

Peat treatments such as peat baths, "mud baths" and mud baths have been used in Central Europe for hundreds of years in health and beauty care.

The health-promoting and healing effects of peat and bog water have been known among folk healers for thousands of years.

Finnish peat is disposable, odorless and clean. It is also available in scented versions, such as tar or rosemary.

PEAT THERAPIES – TREAT YOURSELF NATURALLY

The most well-known form of pampering and treatment for Finns is the peat sauna, which is the Finns' own version of the Central European "peat baths".

A traditional sauna helps with many ailments, as every Finn knows.

With a peat sauna, you can further enhance the benefits of the sauna. A peat sauna relaxes, deeply warms, cleanses and heals your body and mind.

If you've tried peat sauna bathing , you've probably noticed that it works wonders!

Back treatment with massage is also very popular, and many have found relief from back problems. Read about the experience of Irina Björkman (a journalist at ET magazine), who underwent back and foot treatment.

Peat treatment at home is also great, especially if you have a sauna companion who can also apply the peat mass to your back.

TREATMENT METHODS:

  • Peat sauna
  • Peat bath
  • Face masks
  • Body masks
  • Manicures and pedicures
  • Local treatments

Peat is also excellent for hair and skin care.

You can enhance your hair care with a hair lotion and/or peat shampoo made from nutrient-rich bog water, which effectively helps with scalp problems.

If you wish, you can finish the peat face mask for facial care with a facial toner made from pure and natural peat water.

IS PEAT TREATMENT SUITABLE FOR YOU?

The treatments are suitable for everyone and all ages, as peat does not have allergenic effects.

Note! If you have heart disease, high blood pressure, or are pregnant, it is better for you to avoid warm full-body treatments such as peat saunas.

COMPOSITION OF LEHTOSUO TREATMENT PEAT

The peat in the bog is extracted from a depth of approximately 2-4 meters, where it has been found to contain a layer of treated peat of excellent quality.

Peat is processed in its natural state, ground into a fine powder and carefully screened to ensure uniformity.

The top quality of treated peat is guaranteed by careful research conducted by the Geological Survey of Finland.

The peat of the fen is mostly decomposed sedge peat, with relics (i.e. remains) of lake reed, horsetail and trees.

Peat contains beneficial trace elements such as copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, zinc and silicon.

The peat's degree of decomposition is H8 and the pH is 5-5.7 (i.e. slightly acidic). The ash content is between 6-12% and the sulphur content is approximately 0.34% of the dry weight. The water content is approximately 86% of the wet weight.

The average bioactive substances in peat moss are:

  • Humic acids 28.50%
  • Fulvic acids 10%
  • Pectin 0.34%
  • Hemicellulose 11.7%
  • Cellulose 8.55%
  • Total lipids, humins and minerals make up 40.96% of the dry weight of peat.
